Kareena

As explained in why I chose this particular topic, Kareena who is a case study for my documentary is also my Aunt.

In 2014, she was pregnant with twins. She had a condition called placenta previa, which is where the placenta sits over the exit for the baby. This resulted in a massive haemorrhage and meant she had to go into emergency surgery to get the babies out, in order to keep herself alive.

It was an extremely terrifying evening for our whole family. The twins were delivered and Kareena's life was saved, but unfortunately, they didn't survive as it was so early before their official due date. They were only 23 weeks old.

We are lucky enough to be a very close family and we speak rather openly about the twins, Isabel and Hannah, and their loss.

Kareena and her daughter Brooke (born in 2016)

This is a video with some audio clips taken from the documentary to give a sneak peak to viewers about what is to come and what to except from my case studies. I feel the video also adds a human face to the voice and the fact you also get to see Kareena's daughter after she explains her loss, it could give a beacon of hope to families who are planning to have another baby after experiencing their own loss.
